NOC Check ("we," "us," or "our") operates a permit jurisdiction reference tool for Florida roofing and construction contractors. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights with respect to that information.

By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, company name, and a hashed password. We do not store plaintext passwords.

Billing Information: Payment processing is handled by a third-party processor. We do not store full credit card numbers. We may retain transaction records (amount, date, last 4 digits) for billing and dispute purposes.

Usage Data: We log lookup activity (which jurisdictions were queried, search terms, timestamps) to improve data quality and detect abuse. This data is not sold or shared with third parties.

Technical Data: Standard web server logs including IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This data is used for security monitoring and is retained for up to 90 days.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the Service
• To process subscription payments and send billing receipts
• To send account-related notifications (password resets, service updates)
• To detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive activity
• To improve the accuracy and coverage of jurisdiction data
• To respond to support requests

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

4. Cookies and Sessions

We use session cookies to maintain your logged-in state. We may also use a persistent "remember me" cookie if you opt into that feature at login. This cookie contains a cryptographically signed token and does not store your password.

We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

5. Data Retention

Account data is retained for the life of your account. If you cancel your subscription, your account data is retained for 90 days before deletion, unless you request earlier deletion. Usage logs are retained for up to 12 months.

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

• Passwords stored using bcrypt hashing
• HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
• Database access restricted to the application server
• Remember-me tokens rotated on each use

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Third-Party Services

NOC Check may use the following third-party services:

• Payment processor — for handling subscription billing (subject to their own privacy policy)
• Email delivery — for transactional emails such as password resets and billing receipts

We do not share personal data with third parties beyond what is necessary to operate the Service.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt out of non-essential communications
